Reaching beyond ourselves is the antidepressant of life. It's where hope resides. It's where

faith resides. It's where intimacy is, but it's risky and it's scary for us. And so a lot of us get

married in the hope for that communion, but then we do it from the ego. We do our marriage from

the place of safety and self-protection. And we understandably, but to our detriment, interfere with what

the marriage needs most, something soulful and real, something that's really about a kind

of connection that allows us to touch not just one another souls, but the divine.
