It's a desert island goals and I'm very excited.

Well, first of all, to be hosting it because it's normally Andy, but it's me, John Givens, this time,

and I'm also delighted to be joined by Professor Phil Screighton

who is known best in salient in this city for his considerable work and research on the

Hillsby disaster particularly as part of the Hillsby Independent Panel and also as author of Hills

but the truth. He is back home in Liverpool this week to appear at the Writing of

the Wall Festival to discuss the social and political consequences of criminalisation.

But first he's joined us to talk about his passion and love Liverpool Football Club

and yeah we're delighted to share this time with you Phil.

Well it's great John I mean it's it's all. We're delighted to share this time with you Phil.

Well it's great John, I mean it's it's all so good to be able to just sit and relax and talk about,

you know, your history with the club rather than just focusing simply on Hillsborough although

Hillsborough is such an important part of the club's history now and it's a very

important part of my life but it is in a season that it's been just so spectacular and is yet to be finished

you know and we're all now building up for the great game in Madrid. It's just great to be able to talk about,

personally I suppose, about my own time, my own sort of growing up with the club from those early days when of course I'm old enough now to say my childhood we were in the second division.

All those years ago and I think, you know, we're going to come on and talk about your three goals that you've picked,

but I did, I think you're the first guest we've had on desert island goals who's also done Desert Island discs.

So I was just wondering what were the harder choices, the erring the goals of the music.

Oh, the music by a long shot. I mean I had a short list for the music of 23 tracks and they said

they'd never had anybody on Desert Island discs who not only specified the tracks but specified
