But I want to start tonight's message with a very important question for us all to consider.

And that question offends God.

And I want this self-examining question to be on the forefront of our minds.

And I want this self-examining question to be on the forefront of our minds as we consider what the

word of God has for us to feed on this evening.

And we've all been getting a healthy dose of the Old Testament,

as of late, if you haven't caught on to that,

whether it be Pastor Jack's recent Sunday message

in the Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 28, or this past Sunday,

Pastor Joel's message in the book of Malachai.

And you know it's good that we faithfully examined the Old Testament.

Far too many churches have neglected the Old Testament,

if not thrown it out completely, saying it's not relevant for today.

Well, they're wrong.

And this church knows that in order

to appreciate and understand the New Testament,

we must examine what the old has to say.

And before we arrive at our text tonight, it is necessary for us to consider the context of this passage.
