On Labor Day, while most of us were enjoying a barbecue or just taking it easy with friends

and family, US District Court Judge Adling Cannon was handing down her ill-conceived ruling

granting Trump a special master in the case of 11,000 government documents, I mean hundreds

that were highly classified that he stole from the US government.

And then she went to party with her peeps over Mar-a-Lago.

Trump is eating it up.

But with the judge's adherence, there's maybe some small fraction of these 11,000 documents

that might potentially have a privilege claim.

So I'm going to allow the special master to review all 11,000 documents, including even

the ones in the photo that we saw on the label, top secret.

I don't think that they're attorney-client and they're certainly not executive privilege

protected.

And she says the special master will decide all of that.

And until that special master decides all of it, which may take months or years, the

federal government can't use any of these materials in its criminal investigation of Donald

Trump.

That is to put it mildly insane.

The term special master is unfortunate.

I mean, for God's sakes, it sounds sort of like a bandage flick that they played at

the old-time square.

But what this special master is essentially trying to do is tie the hands of the Department
