So it's kind of like, uh, wow, Christmas happens in winter after months of buildup and speculation

Ron DeSantis expected to officially announce that he's running for president next week.

He's going to formally file paperwork with the federal election commission and declare his

candidacy. Of course, he can't ask for any money until he actually declares that he's running

for president. We talk about this a lot. When we offer free advice for people

running for public office and we say this is true and it is true whether you're running for

a town council race or you're running for president of the United States.

The worst thing you can do is get super wordy and super broad. You generally win

your campaigns. Uh, all things being equal, right? You know, obviously if a guy like Jefferson

tree versus Abdul, there was, there was no shot. I think I had a good $1,000,000. But in a case

where all things are equal and it's candidate V candidate. And everybody's doing signs and

everyone's doing mailers and everyone's doing ads. It is the topics that you choose to run on

and how you run on those topics. And that sounds relatively simple and an almost well duh type of

thing. But Casey, you would be flabbergasted. The amount of candidates who believe they have to

weigh in on every single topic. And they're not good at most of the topics and they distract from

the things that actually might resonate with the majority of people. And so having said all that,

the challenge for Ron DeSantis. And I say this sitting here today and I feel like I've been pretty

good at politics. But I have no idea what those things actually are because Donald Trump and his

association with his very loyal unwavering group of voters is markedly different than almost any

other politician in American history period. So I don't know what the three or four things are

that Ron DeSantis should focus on because I think there's so many people out there that no matter

what he focused on, and no matter where he points out that he would be better than Trump,
