Hello everybody, my name is Michael Gunger. Welcome to the liturgist podcast. This is the beginning of season eight.

And liturgy for those who are just joining us, if you're wondering what the liturgists means.

Liturgy is a word that is usually used within certain types of religious spaces.

But the word literally just means the work of the people.

Liturgy is essentially the structure and form that people use to come together and share experiences together.

So for us, a liturgist is simply a person involved in the formation of any sort of communal, spiritual or life enriching practice or technology as we like to say.

And this season of the liturgist podcast, we will be seeking out conversations with liturgists from all sorts of different fields and philosophies who are working in one way or another to create more love and less suffering in the world.

I'm good. I'm really good. I'm really good to talk to you. I don't know that we've done this before.

No, we haven't. We have chatted, but I don't know that we've ever recorded ourselves talking to each other before.

2010 or something probably. That sounds right. Yeah. And we bumped into each other a few times over the years and always had lovely conversations and you're obviously like for most people completely fascinating from afar, but we have not managed to do this much.

I've been told in similar circles. I know you, but we're like always close in our orbits, but that's nice to actually finally land.

I'm curious that we're wired very differently. And I think that's what we're doing similar things in extremely different ways. And that's one of the things that one of the reasons I've been fascinated to chat.
