Today, the Trump administration continued to defend its controversial deportation flights over the weekend.

The U.S. flew hundreds of mostly Venezuelan alleged gang members to a prison in El Salvador early Sunday under a wartime act.

However, a judge temporarily blocked the deportation Saturday evening, so he could consider

the implications of using the rear 18th century law and verbally ordered that any planes already

carrying some of the migrants to return to the U.S.

A hearing about whether the Trump administration violated the order is underway.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt seemed to imply that there may be a legal distinction between a federal judge's written in verbal order.

This administration acted within the confines of the law, again, within the president's constitutional authority,

and under the authority

granted to him under the Alien Enemy's Act. We are quite confident in that, and we are

wholly confident that we are going to win this case in court. The Justice Department reiterated

the same argument in a court filing to delay the hearing, claiming the judge's order, quote,

is not enforceable, but the judge rejected

the request to delay.

New details have emerged in the deportation of Dr. Vasha Aloha, Alouye, a Brown University

assistant professor over the weekend.

Aloha is a 34-year-old doctor who was given an H-1B visa to work at Brown University's

Division of Neurology last year.

After returning from a short trip to Lebanon last Thursday, she was arrested at Boston Airport

and sent back to Lebanon over the weekend. That went against the federal judge's order for her

to remain in Massachusetts for 48 hours. Today it was revealed that Alawi was deported after federal agents
