So you know, our theme song, look for the best, expect the worst, comes from Mel Brooks's

maybe his least known movie, the 12 chairs, his second movie made in 1970 after the producers.

And you know, when we decided to use it as our intro, it was a joke, you know, it was

sort of the, it was the fundamental Jewish joke of all time this song, you know, you

look for the best, expect the worst.

You could be Tolstoy or Fanny Hurst, Fanny Hurst being a, now forgotten popular novelist

of the 1920s and 1930s, trash novelists.

So it was a joke.

And today, this week, it doesn't seem like such a joke to me anymore, but rather a prophetic

prediction of the position we would find ourselves in.

Today, with not only with the events of last week, the attempt into the storming of the

capital, with at least some non-zero number of people in the crowd intending to do violence,

to the vice president of the United States, the speaker of the house, whoever they could

get their hands on, if they could have gotten their hands on them.
