All right, Jake, let's move on into the number one story of the morning. We are talking about how

Congress is moving towards, or not, rather, a deal on DHS funding. And this is something that I think we

basically could have predicted earlier in the week, but things are kind of at a standstill.

Yeah. Last night, the White House sent over Democrats the text for their offer on a DHS overhaul.

I get, we're saying it's a last minute bid to avoid a shutdown. That's probably a bit too generous. Democrats are reviewing the White House's proposal, which earlier this week, when it was delivered in letter form, they said was inadequate. So I'm not, I'm not sure how long that review will take. I think they were going to review it overnight. So the whole thing, as we've been saying, I think a bunch of times this week, is that Democrats need to feel like appreciable progress was made in order to be comfortable voting for a short-term DHS bill.
