Two men arrested in connection to the murder of a. Texas girl who was found strangled to death in a creek are Venezuelan illegal aliens.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson said Friday that Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, a 22-year-old, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, a 26-year-old, both illegally entered the U.S. without inspection, parole, or

admission by a U.S. immigration officer. In an email, the spokesperson said the U.S. Border Patrol

previously arrested both suspects earlier this year. The men were arrested again Thursday,

this time on Capitol murder charges, after police found the body of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungary.

The Houston Police Department said Nungary's body was discovered in a shallow creek around 6.15 a.m.

Last Monday.

In response to this story, Joy Reid on MSNBC discussed the matter with Premier Jeepal,

a congresswoman, and the latter started chuckling.

Great, citizens.

But there's a lot of fearmongry.

There's a lot of fear mongering. There's a lot of

fear mongering. Absolutely. And I think it's kind of remarkable that the polls I look at,

the national polls, actually Americans still support immigrants. They support immigration.

It's just that they would like to see a system that actually works and that can keep them safe

and secure. And all of us want that.
