We are in the last couple days of this continuing resolution drama in Washington, D.C., what's often called a CR.

I like to step back and there's so much Washington speak in these dramas to step back and

like what is a CR?

What are we talking about here?

Over the last couple decades, Congress has pretty much gotten out of the business of

writing budgets on schedule. So they repeatedly are on this situation if they run out of time.

So what you have to do is write a bill that says, okay, the budget we did last year, we're just

going to keep it on autopilot for three

more months to give us time to do the, you know, the next budget. Okay. So that these come up a lot.

And if they expire, you have a government shutdown. Obviously, we've seen these many times over the last

25 years or so. And we are in one of those situations.

a one-sentence bill that just says, we're going to keep doing what we did last year for
