Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it, and what we're going to get into today is the Democratic

Party's Biden-Flation disaster.

You know, it's been many, many years when people started putting things together, putting

names together, like Biden and inflation, but this one does go pretty well, Biden-Flation.

And so that's what we're going to call it, but now you've seen the news.

The government says that inflation rose 8.5% in March compared to last year.

They were predicting 8.4%, which was bad enough, but it's actually 8.5% on an annual basis

compared to last year.

That is up from the annual rate of inflation last month, which was 7.9%, which was bad.

And 7.9% was the worst since 1981, and now 8.5% is also the worst since 1981.

So it's bad, it's getting worse.

Now there are a lot of stories behind the big number, the 8.5% number.

Inflation is up in every area of the economy, but the worst news concerns some very fundamental

human activities, the price of eating, the price of finding warmth and shelter, and the

price of moving around.

Those three activities are the areas in which inflation is actually worse now.

So if you look deep into the website at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that's the federal

agency that compiles all this stuff, look deep into the website at BLS.gov, and you'll

see how bad inflation is in those three basic areas, you can look and see what the rate

of inflation was in March and on an annual basis in a number of different economic areas.

So eating, start with eating, the price of food.
