From New York, this is democracy now.

When the separation of families at the border here happened in 2017 and 2018, I remembered

the kind of transport and other instances in which the children have been taken away

from the parents.

For example, during slavery, children were sold out, taken from their mother's arms.

The wind knows my name.

That's the title of the new novel by acclaimed author Isabel Aende, which looks at the

trauma of child family separation from the Nazi Holocaust to the US-Mexican border.

She joins us today.

At first, we speak to the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maria Nyahosa, on a new investigation

into the sexual abuse of women detained by ICE, immigration, and customs enforcement.

Russian ongoing attacks on Ukrainian grain supplies have destroyed at least 60,000 tons of

grain, as global food security faces, mounting threats, which is Navy's also carried out live

fire and military exercises in the Black Sea days after Moscow withdrew from the Black Sea

grain deal.

And both Moscow and Kiev said ships traveling to either Russian or Ukrainian ports through

the waterway constant to potential military targets.

Turkish President Richard Tayyib Erdogan said today he'll be holding talks with the Russian

President Vladimir Putin, which could lead to restoring the grain deal.
