We're pleased with the Supreme Court rejected the extreme legal theory presented in this

case, which would have interfered with state governments, which would have opened the door

for politicians to undermine the will of the people.

The Supreme Court begins its final week of the term by dismissing the independent state

legislature theory.

That state legislatures can write election rules and draw congressional maps not subject

to review by state courts.

We'll speak with Michael Waldman, president of the Brennan Center for Justice, author

And poverty is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States.

Poverty kills two and a half times more than drug overdose.

Cumulative poverty lingers year after year, and cumulative poverty is associated with 60%

more death than current poverty.

people that are killed by poverty.
