This week is Dementia Awareness Week.

Now, I don't know why it is the case,

but more and more people seem to be living with dementia.

It's not an easy condition for them.

It's very often not an easy condition for their families either.

We thought we would look in this program at how being outdoors,

how the experience of being in nature can actually help people living with the condition in whatever context.

This is what we came up with.

If I were to say the word dementia to you, what springs to mind?

Most people, if they were being honest, said, well, it's to do with memory loss, isn't it?

Getting confused.

A sort of shrinking of the self.
