New York City delivery drivers from Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber

eats, and the like often work long hours in all weather to make sure orders get to customers.

Now, they're going to be paid an amount that actually reflects that hard work. Currently, Manhattan's

60,000 food delivery workers make an average of $7.9.9 an hour, according to CNN.

But soon, that number will more than double.

That's thanks to new regulations announced last week by New York City's mayor Eric Adams.

First of its kind in the U.S., by the way.

Under the new rules, the city's food delivery workers from Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and the like,

will make $17.96 an hour before tips, starting July 12.

In April of 2025, that pay will increase to nearly $20 an hour.
