In his biographical series on the life of Jesus Christ, Chuck Swindall has come to a defining moment.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck will describe the horrendous hours leading up to the crucifixion

of our Lord.

Remaining silent, Jesus stood before a violent mob that refused to accept his claim.

Jesus had claimed to be king of the Jews, and for this they mocked him, beat him, and hung him on a cross to die.

Let's pick up the story in John John. beat him and hung him on a cross to die.

Let's pick up the story in John Chapter 19.

Chuck titled his message,

Delivered up to be crucified. As he's standing now, with his face swollen, his eyes are like two tiny slits and the blood coming from the crown and

sticking to the robe the clamous on his back and they say to him verse 29

hail king of the Jews, we salute the long-lived Jesus, king of these Jews, can't you just hear them?

The crime of the victim was written on a plank of wood about one foot by two feet.

It was called a titulus. The titulus was this piece of wood that first hung around the neck of the victim as he carried a portion of his cross to the place of execution.

And Pilot wrote it, which was not uncommon.

And there was a bit of an argument.

John 1921, the chief priests of the Jews were saying to pilot,

do not write the king of the Jews were saying to pilot, do not write the king of the Jews. It could look as

though he is that is what they were concerned with. But rather add the words he said, I am the king of the Jews.

Let him understand that he simply clinged that.

We don't want them to think he was in fact the King of the Jews.

Pilots anti-Semitism comes to the forefront when he says,

what I have written, I have written.
