Summary

Operation Redeemer - that plan to relieve the besieged forces commanded by General David McCay in Kiev, spearheaded by a force commanded by Paul von Lettow Vorbeck, composed of Freikorps soldiers and other German volunteers. It was a story almost too incredible to be true - and yet, onwards the redeemed marched. Back in London, the peacemakers chaired the Arbitration Committee, and imagined life after the conference. It seemed that the pieces were coming together, but would everyone be standing by the end? Get bonus content on Patreon

Thank you. Hello and welcome Delegates All to episode 18 of the Delegation game.

0:34.3

Yes, I know it's a little bit late, I'm sorry about that.

0:39.3

Hopefully now we'll be able to move on to being more timely and punctual because I'm actually finally, finally finished with college

0:47.1

and all of those meetings and corrections and everything else that that entails. And hopefully

0:52.7

now I'll be able to focus fully on this podcast over the summer

because this episode here is a bit of a different one to the normal delegation game episodes.

1:12.6

You lovely delegates may be used to. That's because the last week or so has not really involved all that much new developments

1:19.6

in terms of treaties and that kind of thing.

1:22.6

And the main reason for that is because we've made really good progress with the actual German treaty and that original conflict which had so divided the Allies into the two camps has

1:32.5

been mostly resolved.

1:34.1

So thanks in particular to Vittoria Orlando and Antonio Mora for making that happen.

1:40.3

I appreciate you guys resolving the issues that Spain and Italy have and I'm now looking forward to seeing what else we can achieve in the time that we have left in this game.

1:51.3

Supposedly, I've heard word that you're trying to sort out treaties, not just with Austria and Hungary, but also Bulgaria.

1:58.4

If you wanted something really tricky, why not try and sort out Turkey as well?

2:02.5

Who knows what might happen?

2:03.9

So in this episode here, as we said,

2:06.0

there isn't that much new developments happening.

2:08.2

So rather than imagining what those different delegates were doing,

2:11.5

since they didn't have much to occupy themselves,

...
