Look to those who've gone before you,

who've run that race and gone through times of testing and discouragement and temptation.

series called Defying Discouragement. Let's listen. When I was a little girl, I used to play the cello.

It's a big stringed instrument that you hold and you play this way.

It's the big cousin to the violin or the viola. And those instruments have strings that have to be

kept tight or taught. They're adjusted so that they make different tones. But if you loosen those

strings, you just get noise.

You don't get music.

If the strings are limp or loose, they have to be taught in order to make music.

Same with a bow and arrow.

If you want to shoot an arrow, you need for the bow string to be taught.
