All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of The Teardown.

My name is Jeff Luck, and I'm with my co-worker, Jordan Bianchi.

We are writers for the athletic. We cover in motorsports. And today is another one of our

off-season podcasts, really pre-season podcasts now as we are starting to ramp up for the Daytona 500

coming up. And really, it's just less than six weeks away now, I guess, Jordan.

So pretty crazy how fast this offseason is flying by.

Yeah, the offseason almost feels over.

When you factor in that the roars coming up for the 24 hours at Daytona,

and then right after that is the Rolex 24.

And to me, and then the Chili Bowl is coming is the Rolex 24 and to me that and then the

chili bowl is coming up too and those kind of really kind of the preseason kickoff events that

kind of get the year rolling in the motorsports yep chili bowl this week and really by the time

you might be listening to this podcast may already be underway starts uh monday january 11th goes

for five nights of prelims so um yeah it's going to be lots to talk about.

And, of course, we were focused here on the upcoming NASCAR season.

And we actually, Jordan, got a nice topic idea from one of our listeners, Alex Casillas.

And we thought we would chime in on that today. So here's what his note was.

Hey, Jeff, I'm enjoying your offseason podcast. I was wondering if I could throw a topic

suggestion your way. 2021 seems to be a transitional year from any of the drivers. I was wondering

if you and Jordan could weigh in on what you think needs to happen for certain drivers in

2021 to be successful. For example, what will 21 have to look like for bubble Wallace to be

considered a successful season? Same for Kyle Larson and other drivers who have switched teams.
