The Raiders have another practice day in OTAs that is open to the media.

It is number nine and we'll be talking to defensive coordinator, Robbie Leonard.

So we'll be focusing a lot on the defensive side of things.

Segment number two, I want to talk about difference makers on the defensive side of the ball, especially since we're talking to Robbie Leonard today at the practice facility. Want us to talk about those defensive difference makers, not named Max Crosby. We know what he brings to the table.

We know who he is.

I know he's not available.

He's not out there practicing yet. He'll be out there stretching, but he won't be out there practicing. He's not going full throttle. But we know what Max Crosby brings to the table. And he's been bringing that to the table. Who else is going to step up and help him out? I'll talk about a handful of guys that I'm looking at coming up in segment number two. Here is segment number one, just news and notes of the day, and it really just has to do with OTAs number nine as we get ready for it coming up this morning, 9.30 a.m. to about 1140. That's when the Raiders will be out there practicing. At least that's when we'll be able to view the practice. We'll be talking

to defensive coordinator Robbie Leonard. So as you know, me paying attention to the defense,

no problem. I do that all the time. The defense is really lined up closer to where we are.

So a lot of times that I do get fixated on what they have going on, the defensive line,

they're always right behind us working out. so I focus in on them as well.

But try to make sure I get eyes on all the defense as much as possible.

So we have some good questions to ask Robbie Leonard.

When we get to meet with him, we'll talk to him about 1140 right after practice is over.

And this will really be the first time on the record that we're allowed to, you know, speak with Robbie Leonard and get an idea of what he wants the identity of this, you know, Raiders defense to look like. You know, I saw him at the Silver and Black Gala, talked to him for a few minutes, but I'm not going to sit there and pepper him with a big Q&A and sit there and try to get as much information as possible at a charity event like that where everyone's kind of relaxed, having a good time, not supposed to be focused in on football, even though he was game to talk some football. So now I'm looking forward to having an opportunity while he stands up there at the podium and we can ask him about the identity. What is his vision? How does he try to take this defense from what Patrick Graham was doing to what Robbie Leonard wants to do? So that's something that I look forward to. They'll also give us a handful of players to talk to. Normally, it's anywhere between three and four, and I'm sure they'll be defensive players since we're going to be talking to defensive coordinator, Robbie Leonard. So that'll come up today, looking forward to that, and definitely be focused in on all things defense at OTA number nine today.

Now on Tuesday, they had the assistant coach media availability, and I wasn't able to do that. That didn't happen until 2 o'clock, and that's when my radio show took place, and I was over at Silver Seventh's Hotel and Casino. They had a sports book that they opened up, so they wanted me to put not, not throw out the ceremonial first pitch, but make the ceremonial first bet. So I was able to do that, put a little something, something down on the Vegas Golden Knights to win the Stanley Cup. And oh, but here we go. They're already up one nothing in the Stanley Cup finals. So maybe my bet will cash. But that's something we'll talk about at another time.

So offensive assistant coaches met with the media around 2 o'clock.

Zach Ghazani, Rick Denison, Mike Sullivan, Luke Steck on Omar Young, and then the defensive assistants as well from Matt Robinson, Travis Smith,

Ronnell Jones, and also Joe Woods.
