And into the Word of God. On Sunday mornings, we're going through 2 Corinthians, chapter by chapter,

verse by verse. Last week we got through chapter 9. Today we're going to pick it up in chapter 10.

In our text will be verses 1 through 6. So you can turn there at this time. And once you do, if you're able,

as I read beginning in verse 1 where the apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is writing to

the church in Corinth and says by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you. I, Paul, who am timid, when face to face

with you, but bold toward you, went away. I beg you that when I come, I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be towards some

people who think that we live by the standards of this world. For though we live in the world,

we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.

On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments

and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. And we take captive every thought

to make it obedient to Christ and verse 6. We will be ready to punish every act of disobedience

once your obedience is complete. Let's pray and we'll ask God's blessing on our understanding if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we need for you at this time by the Holy Spirit to

settle our hearts and enable us to focus our attention and give you

our undivided attention so that you can minister to us and speak into our lives in

and through your word today. Lord, that's why we're here. We're

here because we want to hear you speak into our lives. And we don't want to merely have
