If Seton Hall goes on to get back to the NCAA tournament for a fifth time in the last six

dances, this game will be a popular topic on the Pirates resume. We hear so much about these

types of games for the winners, and understandably so. To the winners go the spoils, and it's a heck of a

lot more fun to talk about big victories. For Michigan, if this season goes where we all hope

it will and where it all has

the potential to go, I think this game will be a topic of conversation too. Adversity hit,

and Michigan did not quite do enough to pull it out on Tuesday night. And once film sessions

roll around in the lead up to the UNLV game on Friday night, there will be some

big time lessons to be learned. This game unquestionably was there for the taking. Michigan was

unable to close it out. Coach Howard did not run from that. You'll hear that conversation here

in a little bit. And this team will not run from that. Failing to get rebounds, coughing up costly turnovers, having some defensive lapses.

This is a frustrating one.

There's no denying it.

I could sugarcoat it and say, hey, well, despite all of that, Michigan was right there

at the end.

Sure, that's all well and good.

But the way to look at this as a glass half full type of a situation is to say, hey, this game was on November 16th.

And it's a very simple two-way journey from here.

If by March 16th, the lessons learned from this game are ingrained in each and every player, then yes, all the expectations that people had for this team are still on the table.

And if they aren't, then this season was never going to go anywhere in the first place.

But again, there's no reason to overreact to the long term.

This team has months to learn from this game.
