Entering Saturday's road trip to Maryland, Yaxel Lendaborg led Michigan men's basketball in a good number of categories,

but the numbers were far from eye-popping just as you looked at him on a box score.

He led the team with 15 points per ballgame.

He led the team with just 27 minutes a game, and he was the team leader with 8.7 field goal attempts per game.

Coming into this ballgame, he was in the top five in Ken Palm Player of the Year

conversation, even though he was listed as a role player.

He had been used, but not anything crazy.

He also had the most points by a Wolverine this year, but it was 25 in that 25-point

win over Middle Tennessee before Michigan went and stormed the strip in Las Vegas. Saturday night

at Maryland with some adversity, we got the full Yaxel-Lendaborg experience. He took over on both ends of the floor, scoring, defending,

assisting, doing so much. And here's the most remarkable thing is that he scored his 29th point

at the 1123 mark with the three that put Michigan up by seven.

That gave him 29 points, one chive a career high.
