If you are waking up back home to this podcast, to the result from Monday night's Michigan

victory over San Diego State, more importantly to the score of that game, 94 to 54, it may have

put you to sleep had you tried to stay through it. And not from a boredom way. This was one of the

most complete performances in recent memory for Michigan men's

basketball. But more, as we are here in a holiday week, when you nestle into bed after a great

holiday with friends, family, and you have that calm, that relaxation, that appreciation,

thankfulness this time of year that everything worked out.

This was comprehensive.

Michigan dominated San Diego State in pretty much every way.

San Diego State came in.

It was a remarkable stat, having held opponents to 60 or fewer points in 119 games under head coach Brian Dutcher.

That was 44% of Dutcher's games as head coach taking over for Steve Fisher.

And Michigan dealt that hand, dominated, defended at a high level.

San Diego State had no answers, especially in the second half,

when Michigan already went into the break up by 12. Astecs only mustered 21 points. They were

five for 28 from the floor. And just look at the splits, two versus three overall. San Diego

State was seven of 23 from three point land. They were worse than that.

10 for 39 from inside the arc. And several of those made baskets were mid-range tough jumpers

that the Aztecs were able to can. Michigan's shot profile and its shot defense profile was elite in this ballgame.

The other thing I want to mention, the 94 points, no Wolverine had more than 15 points,

and Yaxel Lendeborg, after a pretty big flurry to start the ball game, only took two shots in the second half.
