On Thursday, when Dusty May officially announced his coaching staff for 2024, 2025, Mike Boynton, Jr. joined the podcast.

In that episode, we discussed plenty of things, including his close relationship with now Pistons star Cade Cunningham,

and how Cade, when he was going through the recruiting process in college emphasized the importance of long-term

relationships with those in the program he would ultimately commit to.

Well, sure enough, Boynton and Cunningham are still close, now more than three years after

their final game together with Oklahoma State.

That philosophy seems to permeate Coach May's initial Michigan staff, and likely the foremost

example of that in the college side of things took place in March of 2023 at Madison

Square Garden. Today's guest, Akeem Miscadine, was with May during his first three seasons at

FAU, and those three seasons were instrumental to the build of that program.

But the most impactful fruits of labor with the owls came after Miskedine had left to join Mike

White's staff at Florida and then Georgia. Still, Miskedine was in New York at the Sweet 16 and

at the elite eight when FAU knocked off Tennessee

in Kansas State to reach the final four.

Miscadine was part of the program's history even if he was not with the team for that

magical 2023 run.

Miscanine has traveled all over in his basketball career, playing in the states of Wyoming

and North Carolina, coaching in the states of North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Georgia,

and now Michigan. But now the Chicago native is in an area he's pretty familiar with and

at another high major league after three seasons

in the southeastern conference. So he offers familiarity while also providing the staff

with an exposure to high major basketball coaching that is not prevalent on the staff.
