Entering the month of February, Michigan men's basketball had 11 wins, 10 losses, and 10 regular season games left.

Looking at the resume, Michigan did not need to go 10 and 0 to get into the dance, but Michigan needed to start stacking wins.

And Wednesday's game, a whole matchup with Nebraska, always had to be one of those wins, period.

If Michigan would not have taken care of business in this one, it would have been a really

tough, second, difficult loss to overcome.

Michigan already has the Central Michigan anchor type of a loss on the resume.

But here, on Wednesday at Chrysler Center, Michigan not only always needed

this win, well, based on how it played out, they were always going to get the win. Michigan jumped

out to a 41 to 17 lead. Yeah, credit Nebraska, this team, they fought, they battled back, they

even got it to single digits at some point in the second half, but the

Wolverines never looked back after that moment. They took care of business. They shot almost

60% from the floor. The balance was outstanding. The Wolverines had six in double figures.

Of the nine scholarship players who went out there, I thought all nine played well. Certainly things to improve

upon, Michigan did cough up 13 turnovers, but this was a strong offensive output. And oftentimes

in the first half, especially defense led to offense. The other underrated aspect about this

performance from the Wolverines, no player had to go

more than 31 minutes.

Michigan, as you look at the schedule ahead, it's not easy.

This was the last of the, yeah, should be a win type of ball games for Michigan in the regular

season.

Now, fresh off a three-game winning streak, the Wolverines have a seven-game gauntlet.

Three games at home, several against sure-fire NCAA tournament teams.
