past just a little bit. Brandy Hudson, a 2001 graduate of the University of Michigan, track and

field star setting Big Ten and Michigan records in the long jump. She joins us today to talk about

her time in Ann Arbor, also what she's doing now on campus.

Well, I am pleased to be joined as I promised in the open by Brandy Hudson.

An amazing individual.

I'm so excited to have her today. And Brandy, first of all,

thanks for joining me. And you come, you're local here to Michigan, not anymore, but you grew up here.

And I do want to know, coming from Marion High School, what was it that drew you to the University

of Michigan?

Well, obviously I had a great foundation in terms of education at Marion and my parents

were really, really pushing that I had to choose a university that had an equally strong

educational program.

And then personally, I wanted a school that had really

great athletics. And so that kind of narrowed it down to two schools, University of Michigan and

Stanford. I was fortunate enough to get into both back when it was easier to get into college.
