There was some symmetry from the past on Tuesday night inside Chrysler Center as Michigan

sported those tremendous 1989 national championship throwback jerseys. Hunter Dickinson

accomplished something that had not been done since a member of that 89 championship team and

one that you know very well when he put up 30 points 32 years ago to the day on

Michigan State. You see, since then, no Wolverine had ever put up 30 or more against Michigan

State. That changed on Tuesday night. Hunter Dickinson was brilliant. 33 points, 13 of 19 from the floor. He went

7 of 9 from the free throw line, a force from the get-go against Michigan State. And the

nice thing was that the symmetry did end a little bit because Terry Mills and the 1990 Wolverines

were unable to get the win in East Lansing 32 years ago on Tuesday night.

Whereas Dickinson and Michigan here on Tuesday, wow, they dominated a 17-point win.

But you talk about symmetry.

Well, when you look forward, don't you hope that there's some foreshadowing in all of this?

Because the recipe that we witnessed on Tuesday night is probably what's going to get Michigan to a successful, to an unexpectedly long run in the month of March.

Of course, Terry Mills and Company in 1989, they shocked the world.

If Michigan is to do the same here after what has been an up and down season,

doesn't it look a lot like what we saw on Tuesday night?

Hunter Dickinson being the focal point, taking over with his size, skill,

athleticism, and just flat out want to.

not needing a ton of shots to put up a pretty good amount of points. And ultimately, we all know how March basketball goes. Inevitably, there will be some sort of adversity, whether it's an

injury or in this case on Tuesday night, foul trouble.
