So we're gonna be talking about the topic of deep fakes. Now for those of you who don't really really recall what a deep fake is off the top of your head, it's the latest and greatest unfortunate abuse of technology.

Where basically they make something not real.

You know, basically like you see a celebrity. For instance, one of the ones we watched together was Tom Cruise. This guy who does a really accurate Tom Cruise vocal impression.

Now deep fakes Tom Cruise's face over his own face.

And yeah, so that's what a deep fake is. It's fake. And it's deep fake. That's what it means.

Also deeply jarring. I don't understand how like like okay, like I saw, you know, the Green Knight. The fox in that movie looks less real than this deep fake of Tom Cruise.

Why am I gonna see the Green Knight tomorrow?

Oh my body. I'm so excited for you. Oh please tell me all of your thoughts and opinions.

I'm excited too. Yeah, so I don't understand how this technology came to be.

Like how it's done. Well, it's like video mapping. So it's it's basically like CGI. I mean, I'm for in like people it can track.

It's the same sort of thing that gives us our our wonderful filters. Like, oh look, now I'm a kitty cat talking.

It's like AR. It's adapted reality. And and that's how we can arrive at something like deep fakes, which are brainwashing people and are making things pretty much worse for everybody.

Rack is hard to make. Because like what a hellscape. Like what the fuck?

It truly I was not aware like I knew people used this to make funny things or like silly things. I was not aware that people would use it for nefarious purposes.
