We have another of our Deep Trouble series today. Deep Trouble is an Adventure Rider Radio exclusive series.

Stories of riders that through breakdowns or other issues find themselves in, well, deep trouble.

First, we hear the story, what went wrong, how it ended,

and then we retrace the experience with the rider,

shedding light on some unique challenges they face,

strategies they used,

and ultimately, valuable lessons they learned from it.

Most critically, will employ a little counterfactual thinking, and try and envision how things could

have turned out differently if something had been done

differently during or before the trip. This way all of us riders can learn

from their experience and hopefully avoid our own deep trouble. On this

episode today a group of riders head off to the Cross Pennsylvania Adventure Trail.

Now they expect a fun and relatively easy ride. When they start out, they're surprised and

pleased by the scenery, the attractions, and even the feeling of remoteness they find in the endless game trails they're riding.

It's an idyllic motorcycle adventure until suddenly one mistake changes everything.

They have a rider down with some serious and potentially life-threatening

complications and it's about that point they realize they don't actually know where they are. Luckily though they do have a plan

and things begin to play out but reviewing it in hindsight there are lessons to be
