I'm on the phone with Ashvin, and today we are discussing Deep Red from 1975.

Directed by Dario Argento, written by Dario Argento, and Bernardino Zeponi, starring David Hemings, Daria Nicolodi, Gabrielle, Lavia, and Masha Muriel.

In this film, a psychics murderer kicks off a string of killings, but don't worry, a jazz pianist

is on the case. If you're new to

the show, we are going to do some spoiler-free discussion on the movie for the first 15 or 20 minutes,

and then after that, we're going to start spoiling things. We'll walk through the plot in detail,

so if you haven't seen the movie, you can duck out and watch it on Shutter once you hear a little transition music.

And, uh, Ashfin, have you seen any Argento buff aside from Susperia?

I think Susperia is the only one I've seen. How about you?

Yeah. I've been catching up. I feel like I've seen seven or eight of his.

Wow. That's impressive. He's

getting there. He's got like how many. He's 30, 40 films? Man, he probably has a lot. Yeah.

Yeah. Damn. And all the ones you've seen, have they all been mostly Jalo's or more like on the

superior side of things? I think most of the ones I've seen from him have been Jallos.

I think the only one I saw of his that wasn't the Jalo was Susperia,

what were Susperia and its sequel Inferno.
