Summary

Justin Baldoni files an 87 page lawsuit against the New York Times, this episode reviews contradictions from statements made in Blake Lively's complaint. His perspective seems to be that she held something over Wayfarer as a bargaining chip of sorts to get her way, and that he and his team agreed to her escalating demands to keep the peace. They appear to frame her allegations as a means to regain positive public image that they state was not damaged by a "smear campaign" but rather her own tone deaf actions during the movie's promotional period. Each of their filings reflect very strong, and very opposing, perspectives. Part 6 covers the first half of his filing, Part 7 covers the rest as well as my summary thoughts after realizing one party is either lying or delusional.

0:34.3

Now before we get started, I just want to level set this by saying, this is not

0:39.0

real serious stuff. I'm saying that because I'm seeing some people in comments like ready to

0:43.7

pull a knife on other people. They're disagreeing. They're taking one side very passionately over the

0:49.5

other side. Because let's be clear, somebody's lying. I heard a roar. Did you hear a roar? We sure did, because

0:55.8

somebody's lying. But the fact of the matter is, we can't really know yet. I cannot wait to see

1:01.7

his countersuit against Blake lively. There are very, very, very serious things happening in the

1:06.6

world. This is not one of those very serious things. These people are okay. They have their health.

point. But right now, let's keep a light. Let's not fight each other. Now the last dive,

1:20.6

that was 80 pages of Blake's filing. She dropped that thing on the Friday before the holiday break. When she did that,

1:30.0

I was like, that's cold. You know people are going to be stressed out over the holidays and they're

1:34.9

going to have lawyers scrambling. But you know, you read it and it's backed by the New York Times

1:40.3

because I canceled my subscription. I won't get into it right now. Fine. I'll tell you why.

1:44.2

I canceled it because they did an article. I had been a member. I had been a paying subscriber to the New York Times for a very long time.

1:53.2

And they've been doing a lot of stuff. They've been acting up lately over the past like two years or so.

1:58.0

Some of the stuff that they've been putting out, crazy. I was like, is anybody at the steering wheel over there? Is it Toonces? What's happening over there? They put out an article, and this one threw me over the edge. It was not, it was a tipping point. I'll say that. It was another drop in the bucket, and I couldn't take it anymore. And the irony of that is the lady that they're writing about said that she could cure diseases with one drop of blood, Elizabeth Holmes, or diagnose in order to cure.
