Summary

Today's deep dive episode was inspired by a listener question below: "I’m so curious how you handle all the minutia and small to-dos of daily life. I have 3 kids, a full-time in-office job, and also have a side hustle crafting-based business. It seems like there are constantly people to coordinate with for kids, teacher emails that should be read, game schedules to add to the calendar, meals to plan, groceries to order, other items (household/clothing) that need to be purchased, etc. and I’m feeling suuuuuper overwhelmed with it all." Sarah shares her task capture tactics including a list of examples and how she would handle each task (from bring the sports snack to overdue library books and more!). She also reveals some details about BLP Live, which will be held November 7 - 9 in Fort Lauderdale again! Signup info will be in her newsletter, which you can find at theshubox.com/newsletter!! Hello and welcome to best laid plans.

0:11.3

This is your podcast about all things planning and planning adjacent.

0:15.0

And I am your host, Sarah Hart Unger.

0:17.8

I am excited.

Today's episode was prompted by a question that got sent to me a while

0:22.4

back, and it sat in my Apple notes kind of like percolation area that I have for podcast ideas.

0:29.9

That is how I track all sorts of things when you guys send me ideas for interesting guests,

0:35.9

or maybe something that you read online that you want to

0:38.0

hear more about. Anything I get that might be interesting for the podcast goes in a folder called

0:42.4

BLP and then I have a couple different note pages for different ideas. And anyway, this one has sat there

0:48.2

for a long time. And I know last week I talked about doing some kind of product review today, but truthfully,

0:55.6

I'm in a little bit of a product rut. I am just kind of using the same materials. I haven't

1:02.1

made a JetPens order in a while. I haven't made any specialty planner orders in a while.

1:07.4

And it's not because there aren't amazing products out there. I think it might just be the

1:12.4

time of year and also just being in my own sort of planner piece right now with the tools that I am

1:19.0

using. So this is my plea to you right at the top of the episode. If you know of a physical planning

1:25.9

product or maybe even an app, but really I'm focusing mostly on

1:29.3

physical products here that you think would be a great one to review, something really different,

1:34.9

something that you'd like to know if it lives up to the hype. Please let me know, email me,

1:39.6

and I will put those on my own list, probably in Apple Notes, and I'll make a few purchases.

1:45.5

And of course, I always give things away. Well, I won't say always. I didn't have this practice

1:49.8

originally when I started the podcast, but the more things I bought to review, the more I saw
