Hi friends, it's Nate, and I want to share an update about the future of this show. For eight years,

I've hosted this podcast, and it's been called Almost Heretical. It started as a small project

and eventually became something much bigger than I ever expected. The show connected with people

all over the world who were questioning, deconstructing, or re-examining Christianity,

people who felt caught between belief and disbelief, people who still

cared about Jesus, God, the Bible, but they no longer felt at home in the faith they had previously.

That season mattered to me a lot, and it mattered to a lot of listeners.

Before I go any further, I want to say something clearly about deconstruction.

Deconstruction is often portrayed really badly by Christian leaders as rebellion, bitterness,

or a desire to just tear everything down.

And that hasn't been my personal experience or story.

For me, deconstruction was an honest process driven by a desire to understand and make sense

of what I believe. It's what happens when

inherited answers stop working for you. Before I explain where the show is headed now, I want to

explain a little bit about how I got here. I've always been someone who needs to understand

how things work. When I was a kid, I remember my family got new appliances. Like,

we got a new blender one time. And I'd always ask for the old one so I could take it out to my

shop in the garage and open it up with my tools and see what was going on inside. I wanted to

understand it. I didn't want to just break it. I wanted to understand how it worked, why it worked,

and how anyone could be

confident that it worked in the first place, like what was going on in there. And I'm still like
