0:00.0	As we begin, I'd like to pray with you. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as we begin our
0:15.2	time together tonight, we're going to talk about a very sensitive and important conversation.
0:23.3	We are going to talk about doubt. More particularly, we're going to talk about this idea called
0:28.0	deconstruction. And as we begin our time together tonight, we submit Holy Spirit to you. We
0:34.9	submit Jesus to you and we submit to you, Father. And we even want to say, in the name of Jesus,
0:41.7	we cast out any demonic spirits, any forces of evil that seek to rob us of our identity in Christ.
0:50.1	And so together we just do a little spiritual warfare. Spirits of evil be gone. Jesus is Lord
1:00.2	here. Jesus is Lord. And the name of Christ, Amen. If you have a copy of the Bible, I'd like
1:10.9	for you to open it. We're going to get to this passage in John chapter 20. We're going to actually
1:16.3	just spend some time reading a few verses. We're going to read about this guy named Thomas and
1:23.2	one of the disciples of Jesus, one of these disciples who we have in our New Testament narrative,
1:28.3	the story of Jesus. We want to read about this guy named Thomas. And what we're going to eventually
1:32.1	get to is we're going to talk about this deconstruction journey, doubt, and unfortunately, I have learned
1:39.5	the hard way as maybe you have, that for a lot of us and a lot of the people that we lead, we were
1:45.7	never taught that doubt can be a legitimate space to encounter the living God. And so what often
1:53.4	happens is we encounter doubt or we encounter these moments where we question what we think about
1:57.8	God. And all of a sudden we start wondering maybe if I'm, do I really love Jesus? I remember
2:04.3	a young man by the name of Phil. When I lived in Southeast Portland for the better part of 10
2:08.0	years and passed it up, a beautiful church called Theophilus that is continuing in the Southeast
2:12.4	region. It was a young man by the name of Phil who had just moved from Middle America, raised in
2:19.2	this beautiful sort of Jesus loving conservative Middle American town and moved to Portland. He got a
2:25.3	tech job at one of the big tech firms in Portland. He had typed into his sort of Google search engine,
