MJ Corey is a psychotherapist and a published author whose book Deconstructing the

Kardashian, a new media manifesto, just came out on Tuesday, and she also

provides probably the best high-level analysis of the Kardashians on the internet on her social

media accounts, which are under the name Kardashian Colloquium. You might already follow her.

I've been a long-time fan of M. Day's work and her writing, and it was a real treat for me to be

able to talk to her.

But some of the big ideas that she brings up in her book, which really kind of breaks down

the different factors and icons and things that have happened in how culture that have led to

the Kardashians and how they sort of intersect with those things, as well as analyzing just their

careers overall, and their different trajectories and their different shows they've had over the years.

And it's just she's one of the smartest people you'll ever hear talking about the Kardashians.

And I loved being able to analyze them with her and just bring up things that I think about

as they relate to the Kardashian-Genners overall.

I know they're not everyone's favorite, but

I'm an eternal watcher of their shows, and I think that understanding them, their influence,

and their impact on culture is actually very essential to understanding the machinations of

celebrity and fame in the 20th century overall, whether we like that or not. And the fact that they're technically

also reality stars makes it all the more relevant to this podcast, which as you know, always ties

back to reality TV. So we'll be back on the Bravo beat as usual on Tuesday with the real
