And then I watched Twin Peaks Return Episode 5 and I have to say I haven't got a great clip at the moment what's going on.

We are recording one day before the UK General Election. It's Wednesday morning.

I foolishly watched the first episode of the remake of Padme's Tale and got incredibly depressed.

Was it good? It's really good but it's really strong.

What is it?

A very high brow.

Yes it is. I went to the British Museum and was speaking on a panel about Western Civilisations.

And the four of us sat around this table in my office and we are in my office if you hear the wind blowing.

That's because it's quite windy outside.

Two years and a month ago it was May, wasn't it 2015?

The day before the last UK General Election to talk about what we thought might happen.

I think we've learnt a bit since then including maybe not to trust the polls too much.

I thought we'd all learnt that lesson and it's really really hard to remember every time a scary poll comes out.

But the last two years have been, I think it's fair to say, the most dramatic in British political history since the Second World War.

Is that fair?

Maybe bits of the 1970s we've talked about but anyway, an amazing two years.

And then even in that context, the last six weeks have been extraordinary depressing.

Of course this campaign has been interrupted by two terrorist attacks which will inevitably I think overshadow how people remember it.
