We know Gene Steinberg, some might not want to,

all of us here about where our names began.

So, for example, Murphy is something like Irish, isn't it?

Yes.

Originally, I believe it was Murphyburg, which was an offshoot of the King David in Israel.

Is that right?

So Randall, wait a minute, maybe you were Jewish somewhere?

Yes.

Okay, well Steinberg tends to be German, but I was told by my late father that it was actually something different when his father came over from Austria to Ellesa Island.

This is when we actually allowed people to come into this country.

They asked him his name and it sounded something closer to stittenberg or something so they said okay

steinberg and that's how it ended up being now my mother's parents were etkin or etkins or

etkin okay so we didn't want to get into that ronaldt you you were telling me that your name comes from, what, a Russian word?

It came from the Russian Olshinetsky, which is, I believe, has to do with an area near a place known as Olshin.

So you can imagine Etzky from that vicinity near the Ukraine, near Odessa.
