In Florida, sheriff's deputies responded to a busy roadway for a reported fatal accident.

In New Mexico, a teenager called the county sheriff's office and reportedly confessed to killing his family. In upstate New York, a mother and daughter were reported missing.

Just days later, a fire burned their home down and led to the discovery of their bodies.

And in Texas, police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Thanksgiving.

This week, it was announced that a suspect had been taken into custody.

This past Sunday, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in Florida responded to the 1400 block of North Ocean Boulevard

and Highway A1A in Boca Raton for a reported vehicle accident. The reporting party stated that

there was a fatality at the scene. Responding deputies arrived at about 7.42 a.m. Upon arrival,

deputies noted that a man was lying face down on the shoulder of the roadway.

First responders attempted to provide medical attention to the man, but it was far too late.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Felipe Sores de Morayas.

When deputies spoke with witnesses at the scene, they learned that the driver of a gray

Chevy equinox had struck the victim as he rode on his bike. One witness in particular

had actually been out riding their bike shortly after 7 a.m. when the equinox allegedly

passed by so closely that the witness stated they could have touched the vehicle. Deputies

then observed that the Chevy Equinox was still parked on the shoulder a short distance away from where Felipe was
