You know, through the years have been efforts to reform uphology,

and it sadly needs reforming, as many of you know, many of you have listened to the show,

realize what we all feel about it, that UFO investigation isn't a bad state.

Now, years ago, we tried to hold an actual convention for

scientific uphology called the Congress of Scientific Uphologists. This was somewhere in the 1960s.

And I was very, very young then, by the way. I'm not as old as I sound. And we held this event.

Eventually it became the National UFO Conference, and we made Jim Mosley the permanent chairman.

He's no longer permanent chairman.

He's chairman emeritus or he's left or something like that.

But it didn't really have the traction that we thought it would have.

Over the years, there have been a number of UFO organizations that I think wanted to be the

center for research.

Certainly NYCAP did, although NIACP largely emphasized trying to get congressional hearings,

I think APRO in the 60s and 70s did.

They concentrated a lot on South American sightings, close encounters, alleged artifacts from UFOs. Then, of course, we had the Center for

UFO Studies, the Dr. Heinek organization. I don't hear too much about them anymore, though,

so I don't know what they're doing. And then, of course, we have the mutual UFO network,

which has been around for many, many years, but doesn't seem to have accomplished anything in terms of true

research. In fact, a recent copy of their magazine, they were talking about Lloyd Pye and his

star child. And David and I had a couple of yucks about that on the show. I'm not attacking
