But you have not so learned Christ.

If indeed you have heard him and have been taught by him as the truth is in Jesus,

that you put off concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful

lusts. There's a whole Bible study in those two words, deceitful lusts that our sinful

nature actually grows more corrupt over time. It doesn't stay the same.

It grows more corrupt. The more I sin the worse I become.

And it's in the lesser deceitful, they don't actually give me what they promise.

You know, a person lies because they want to save face, but what does the

liar lose? All credibility. The person does drugs because they want to feel good, but what is the

end result of long-term

drug use feeling horrible and trying to use drugs just to feel normal.

Not to mention wrecking your life. I mean you know you name you name it whatever

the sin is it robs you of the very thing you're reaching out for,

deceitful lusts, deceitful desires. Someone who runs into relationships and sleeps around

all this because they desperately want closeness with other people,

they ruin every relationship they're in,

and they end up alone.
