Today. The History is full of myths, like Washington chopping down the cherry tree or an apple falling and hitting Isaac Newton on the head.

But myths can be deceiving, especially if we want to get history right.

Our guest today is here to talk about

some of the biggest presidential myths of all time. And he's one of my favorite historians.

His name is Larry Schweigart. He used to teach history as a professor at the University of Dayton.

He's the author of two excellent books, a Patriots history of the United States, and 48 liberal lies about

American history. So, Professor, thanks for being on our show. Sure, good to be here.

We talked about these myths, and we have six of them. I'm just going to throw them out there

just to get basically your view on these myths. So the first one is this idea that

Andrew Jackson, America's seventh president, the first common man president, the guy who,

along with Martin Van Buren, organized the Democratic Party, that he was a small government

conservative. And this is a very interesting idea because he's often

talked about as someone who supported states rights was part of the Jeffersonian tradition. At least

that's what people said that he was part of that small government Jeffersonian tradition.
