Tonight we're going to talk about what I'll call mythmus, which is, it's like Christmas, but we're going to focus on the idea of myths surrounding Christmas, myths surrounding Christmas.

And the idea is that we're going to myth bust

the subject of Christmas.

And this will be different than actually previous message I gave

last year on is Christmas pagan. We went over that so I'm not

going to recover all that same territory. That's available. So I'm going to talk about

the biggest myths and I'm going to talk at finally at the end about the

most pernicious myth about Christmas and so there's your there's your bait

there's your reason to pay attention to the last possible second.

Ha ha ha, now I've got you.

So the biggest modern myth about Christmas, I think is a modern myth, the biggest one,

is that it didn't happen.

Actually the biggest myth going around is that Jesus is not a historical person at all

and the entire account in every detail is all fabricated. This is one of those conspiracy type

theory things where it's really hard to get people to shake away from the idea

once they believe that Jesus

didn't exist, no amount of evidence would ever convince them otherwise because

there's there these are people who casually throw massive amounts of faith at obscure ideas like, well I think that the

Romans invented Christianity so that they could control the masses.

And you're like, even though in many ways it's very un-Roman Christianity, they

invented a Jewish religion, started in Jerusalem, that's really what and they use

Jews to spread it throughout their, like this doesn't make any sense, you know.
