Summary

Twitter's death-rebirth, death-rebirth cycle seems to run multiple times each day. Elon Musk has the app surgically attached to his palm. Staff flees or gets fired. What can we learn from the Tesla/SpaceX CEO's leadership of this new venture? Is he thriving on chaos to create a free-speech revolution, or is he driving the social platform to a well-deserved grave? Stephen Green, Scott Ott and Bill Whittle have co-hosted Right Angle multiple times each week since 2009, thanks to our Members and donors. My first topic today is the death, rebirth, and death and rebirth of Twitter.

0:07.8

That happens on an hourly basis now, doesn't it?

0:10.8

Yeah, it really does.

0:12.2

And I have to admit, Elon Musk is just the most fascinating guy in business.

0:18.8

Thank God he ruled around because the previous one was Steve Jobs. And of course,

0:22.3

he's been dead for 11 or 12 years now. And so he needed somebody that interesting in the world of

0:35.6

And he's certainly more out there. You know, jobs should just disappear for months at a time, even when he was healthy. Elon, I don't think

0:44.7

that man sleeps. And I think he's like, Trump, his Twitter app never, ever leaves his hand.

0:51.7

It's just, it's he's, he's on there a lot. Because I don't, when I came back to

0:56.3

Twitter, I just decided I'm, I'm going to follow pretty much nobody. And, uh, but the one account that I made

1:02.3

sure I was going to follow was Elon Musk. Yeah. And, um, and so my whole feed is filled with Elon Musk,

1:09.0

uh, either direct tweets or responses to other people's tweets.

1:14.1

And the most recent one I saw was somebody who was combating on kind of a technical issue,

1:20.7

because Musk had tweeted out something like the big problem with Android versions of Twitter

1:26.2

is this kind of geek speak thing I didn't understand.

1:29.1

Yeah.

1:29.5

And then somebody else responded and said, I've been working on this project for six years,

1:33.6

and that's not true.

1:35.6

And Musk replied and basically said, okay, what are the actual numbers?

1:41.3

You know, he didn't say, hey, how do you cross the boss?

1:44.6

He said, okay, if I'm wrong about that, what are the actual numbers?
