| 0:00.0 | Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. We are your host, Kristen Walker |
| 0:06.6 | Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Isaiah 25, |
| 0:13.7 | verse 8. So I lost my dad when I was seven, and it has impacted, I'm pretty sure it's impacted |
| 0:19.2 | every day of my life since. Like, truly, I don't think |
| 0:22.5 | there's been a single day unaffected by his absence. There are specific days that stand out, |
| 0:28.1 | like my baptism, which was just eight months after he died, and all of the missed father-daughter |
| 0:33.1 | church activities, or my graduation days, or my marriage, or the days when my children were born, |
| 0:37.7 | like on and on and on. With an earthly only perspective, I might be tempted to feel bitter |
| 0:44.0 | and resentful toward a God who would deny me a loving father for all of these years. But Isaiah |
| 0:49.8 | reminds us that because of Christ, all pains will be okay in the end. Quote, he will swallow up |
| 0:56.8 | death and victory, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces. Not only will I get |
| 1:04.1 | to be with my dad in a perfect resurrected body forever, but the sorrow that I felt and the |
| 1:09.5 | opportunities I've missed and the pain of him being |
| 1:11.6 | gone will all be wiped away. Joy will replace sorrow. Beauty will replace ashes. Because of Jesus, |
| 1:20.0 | all will truly be well. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, death has lost its sting. |
| 1:29.2 | Thanks so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ with me one minute at a time. |
| 1:35.5 | Hey, parents, have you broached the topic of Joseph Smith's plural marriages yet with your kids |
| 1:40.8 | or race in the priesthood? If you're feeling less than confident about what to say, |
| 1:45.8 | you are going to love my unofficial guides to tricky church history topics. It's a group of |
| 1:50.9 | illustrated PDFs that you can display on your dining table or refrigerator to help your kids |
| 1:55.6 | understand the trickiest church history topics in the simplest terms, the who, what, when, where, why, and |
| 2:01.7 | how. The guides include topics such as Joseph Smith's polygamy, race in the priesthood, |
... |
