Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Isaiah 25,

verse 8. So I lost my dad when I was seven, and it has impacted, I'm pretty sure it's impacted

every day of my life since. Like, truly, I don't think

there's been a single day unaffected by his absence. There are specific days that stand out,

like my baptism, which was just eight months after he died, and all of the missed father-daughter

church activities, or my graduation days, or my marriage, or the days when my children were born,

like on and on and on. With an earthly only perspective, I might be tempted to feel bitter

and resentful toward a God who would deny me a loving father for all of these years. But Isaiah

reminds us that because of Christ, all pains will be okay in the end. Quote, he will swallow up

death and victory, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces. Not only will I get

to be with my dad in a perfect resurrected body forever, but the sorrow that I felt and the

opportunities I've missed and the pain of him being

gone will all be wiped away. Joy will replace sorrow. Beauty will replace ashes. Because of Jesus,

all will truly be well. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less is, death has lost its sting.
