Nestled next to 10 empty acres of land are the four small houses that make up the respite center called La Posada Provivencia.

The staff here can house up to 40 people at a time, sometimes more if they lay extra mattresses on the floors of offices and shared spaces.

Still, the most noticeable feature of the property is just how quiet it is.

And for a lot of its residents who've left wars, turmoil or noisy detention centers, that sense of peace is invaluable.
