Today we're talking all about dealing with exes. What do you do when you have to see your

Dr. Kim, what are the most common ex-spouse difficulties?

Well, I think the biggest thing is that not to see your spouse X as an enemy.

I mean, I think that is when you make that turn that they are really not an enemy, it makes a difference.

I think the couples that I see where there aren't kids involved. A lot of time it's money depending on, again, how long they've

been married, all that kind of stuff. That can be an issue afterwards. They're trying to settle

things out. And then I think with the kids, there's so many things that come into it. Money,

communication, schedules, parenting on the same page,

still fighting, still wanting to win. I mean, all kinds of things that usually just because

it's interesting, when you have a kid and you get a divorce, the problems you had in marriage,

a lot of them don't stop because you're still going to fight over the same things. You haven't

changed either one of you. And so where you have to interact, there can still be a lot of fighting.

And so those are some of the things, I think, just the conflict things that happen

and then certain people's personalities enter into it, the particular things that make this

unique or this situation unique and a little bit different.
