I want to break down what's going on there and what I think might ultimately be

happening in that situation. Plus, I'm going to be taking all your questions and comments coming

A lot to get into tonight.

Like I said, we've got a ton going on here that we need to discuss, including the latest news about the Utah Jazz and a deal that just doesn't seem to want to go away,

which is actually, I think, music to the years of Lakers fans.

I mean, most fans, and look, count me in this boat as well, do not want to see the Lakers

go into the season with the roster as it stands.

I've said it many, many times this roster. It's screaming for a trade. It does not make any sense the way it's put up, put together right now. And so the roster construction leaves us, well, pretty concerned. So a trade in theory should be a good thing. If it's the right trade, it's got to be the right trade, though. It's got to be something that helps the Lakers out. So here's where things are at right now. Tony Jones for the athletic who covers the jazz. So important to note that this is the jazz side of things here. So what he said is that the Lakers and jazz are still indeed talking trade. So he's talking about the jazz. Right now, they have 17 players under contract. Can't do that. By the time the regular season starts, got to be down to 15. Now, the regular season, we're talking about towards the end of October, right? Middle end of October. So you've got plenty of time, if you're Utah, to trim your roster down. But you've got guys on guaranteed contracts that you probably don't want to just cut that you don't want to just say, okay, well, we have too many players. So see you later. Remember, they absorbed a lot of players via trade for both Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. You saw teams stack up a lot of players in order to average things out in a trade. And so now the jazz have

too many players. So we know they're going to do something. But Tony Jones says that they have to cut

at least two players. They have to shed at least two players. And there's a lot of interest in

Boyan Bogdanovich. Not a surprise. Not a surprise. And I'll get in a while in a minute. But the jazz, this is the important part,

but the jazz at this point don't appear to be particularly close to a trade

that could land them even more assets and consolidate the roster,
