Summary

I was pleasantly surprised by all the positive responses I received to last week's Deadpod -so I am pleased to be able to present the 2nd set of this great show from August 16th, 1980 at the Mississippi River Festival on this week's Deadpod. This set starts off rocking just as hard as set 1, with a hot CC Rider going into a really excellent China Cat -> I Know You Rider.. Estimated is quite strongly played as well, then a long He's Gone leads into a really trippy drums and space.. the Other One that follows is superb.. one of the best of the year in my opinion. Black Peter helps brings us back to Earth but the boys end with a rare double encore to let us know how much they appreciated the faithful who enjoyed the show in the massive downpour..

0:07.2	This week we get to hear the second set from this really fun audience recording took place back of a show that took place back on
0:15.1	August 16th 1980 in Edwardsville, Illinois right across the river from St. Louis
0:20.0	at the Mississippi River Festival.
0:23.0	A torrential storm and downpour took place during the second set and you'll hear it at times on this recording.
0:31.0	Valiant, it was quite a valiant effort made to make this recording as clean as possible.
0:37.0	There were plastic cups put over the mics and you can hear the rain on them at some points during this recording,
0:42.0	but it's still a great
0:43.8	performance and a lot of fun to listen to so I hope you enjoy it.
0:47.5	Starts off with C.C. Rider into a wonderful China Rider.
0:50.6	China Cat Sunflower into I Know You Rider.
0:52.4	Then the boys do ship of fools, always a pleasant tree.
0:56.0	Estimated Prophet goes into a nice long he's gone.

1:02.0	That goes into drums in space. A great other one
1:05.0	follows, Black Peter is a real treat, into Sugar Magnolia. They do a double
1:10.0	encore, I think fitting the fun they had and the obvious pleasure they took in the
1:15.0	performance and in the crowd they come out with it great and rare for the time
1:19.2	Iko Iko and then finish it off with appropriately enough one more Saturday night.
